I have loved Instagram for a long time now. It is my go to social media platform, and has been since long before I started blogging. I love browsing through my feed and seeing what everyone had been up to.
More recently I’ve discovered the community you can find behind the hashtags on Instagram. Rather than tagging and running, with these particular hashtags there are a group of people behind them who chose to seek out that sort of image. Like minded people who want to support you, see what you’re sharing and who actively go to the hashtags to see what’s going on.
I’m sure we all have different reasons for wanting to be involved in #PerfectAndProud but this is why it is important to me.
We don’t tend to brag in Britain. It’s just not the done thing! If you have an achievement or something to be proud of you down play it. If someone compliments you, you brush it off as if it’s nothing. Inside you’re bursting with excitement, but you just don’t let it out.
I think we need to stop being so British!
My Piglet is perfect, and I am proud of him – why shouldn’t I shout it from the rooftops?! I don’t think we should have to shy away from it.
#PerfectAndProud is a place for you to share all your photos of what you are proud of. They don’t have to be perfect photographer posed shots, a quick snap with your camera phone is fine! It doesn’t even have to be anything particularly special either.
Wake up in the morning and just feel glad to be a parent? #PefectAndProud
Kids trashed the place and you’re pulling your hair out – but their your kids and you love them? #PerfectAndProud
Learnt a new skill? #PerfectAndProud
You get the picture!
We are really excited to see your pictures. Each week we will pick a favourite each and they will be shared on Instagram. Make sure you are following each of us to see if you have been featured! We will also do a favourites blog post each week, rotating between the hosts.
You don’t have to be a blogger to take part – you don’t even have to be a parent. You just have to want to be part of an inclusive environment where we can cheer each other on.
