For as long as I can remember I have loved the colour purple. I chose it for my bridesmaid dresses at my wedding – photos that I’ll look back on for the rest of my life. With summer just around the corner (I hope – the weather has been ridiculous!) it is the perfect time to start introducing some purple, or specifically lilac, into your wardrobe. It’s the perfect way to add to lighter colours when choosing your outfits this summer.
Just A Touch Of Lilac
If you’re not sure on going full on purple, then you would start with just a splash of colour for your lipstick. I have the perfect purple shade that I wear quite a lot. I always like to pair it with a simple outfit with no clashing colours. A white shirt dress is perfect, and I love the way this one in particular accentuates my waist. I usually wear a pair of leggings underneath, because I’m constantly picking things off the ground when I’m chasing the kids, but if you’re child free it would look great with bare legs and either some chunky trainers or heels.

Pastel Coloured Jacket
If you want to go a bit bolder than you could try out a pastel jacket. I make no secret of how much I love a shacket, so of course I have a lilac one. It adds a splash of colour to an otherwise fairly neutral outfit, and since it’s a jacket you can take it off any time. I can’t wait for the weather to improve a bit, because now the restrictions are lifting we are hoping to get out for some BBQs and I know the lilac shacket will be perfect.
If subtlety is now your thing then you could just go full lilac. Loungewear is very much here to stay, and I am fully on board with that! There is no way I would want to go back to jeans all day when there is a more comfortable option available. A cute lilac loungewear set, with a cropped long sleeved top and loose trousers is ideal for a lazy day at home. I love the tie dyed patter on this set You can look cute while playing with the kids, reading a book or just doing the dishes.
