Diabetes

I have had type 1 diabetes since 2013. This section has all of the posts I have written either about handling my diabetes in pregnancy, my experience with different technologies, diagnosis or just day to day life.

I have had 2 pregnancies since my diagnosis so there are a number of posts explaining my experience with those and the processes that lead to my sons premature birth. I also have experience in breastfeeding with diabetes.

I use a Medtronic insulin pump as a major part of my blood glucose management and rely heavily on it day to day. I have been pumping since 2014. I have also been using flash glucose monitoring since late 2014 intermittently, with continual usage starting in 2019 thanks to NHS funding.

I hope you will find the information in these posts. I am always open to discussing my life with diabetes so please feel free to message me on social media or email me at oddhogg@outlook.com – but please remember I am not a health care professional. I am only able to explain what worked for ME, and since diabetes is such a personal condition what works for me may not work for you.
