October is here and the nights are closing in. More and more I am reaching for blankets in the evening to keep me warm, and I’m appreciating the need to stay home more and more. Hoodies, joggers and cosy clothes that keep me warm are coming out of the wardrobe now that summer is over, and so I placed an order at Femme Luxe Finery for a few new items.

The first thing I chose was this black oversized t-shirt. I really like the style of it with a leather jacket and a pair of Dr. Martens. It’s working really well on the school run or when I have errands to do and I want to wear something a bit nicer – but without having to forgo comfort when it’s cold and miserable! The oversized fit is perfect for me, it’s not too big so that it feels like it’s swamping me and I think it would look lovely with leggings too.

The next item I went for were these black PU trousers. They are not my usual style, but I love the way they can make you appear more dressed up while still enjoying all the comfort of leggings. I usually end up teaming mine with my boots, but they also look great with a pair of heels if you’re going out or just some simple trainers. An oversized t-shirt for day time or a dressier top for a meal out finishes off the outfit.

For my days at home I had to get my hands on these grey joggers. They are so soft and comfortable! I am quite short so the cuffs at the bottom prevent them from dragging on the ground as I walk around. The pockets are deep, which is perfect for my insulin pump, and the colour means they will go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe.

The last item I got was quite a bold one for me. I don’t usually go for cropped tops, but something about this black one appealed to me. The long sleeves still give me the warmth I crave, and the cropped style means I can show off the results of my hard work on weight-loss and gaining strength and muscle recently. The top is quite a snug fit and if you have a bigger chest you might need to size up, but overall it is comfortable and flattering. I have worn it at home with my joggers but I’m betting it would look even better paired with a pair os high waisted skinny jeans and some heeled boots for a night out.
I’m hoping that the rain and miserable weather that we’ve been having makes way for frost and snow soon so we can properly embrace the seasons and get all cosy! Especially now I have new clothes to enjoy too.
