Every year I can start to get a little stressed about Christmas shopping. I have lots of ideas for gifts for the kids, but I find coming up with gift ideas for men and woman in my family pretty tough. This year though I seem to be ahead of the game. I’ve found some great presents for the whole family, all from the comfort of my sofa. I’m sharing them with you today, in the hope that you might find the perfect gift for someone this year.

Food And Drink Gifts

My mum loves smoked salmon. It is one of her favourite things to serve on Christmas Day, either with scrambled eggs for breakfast, with creme fraiche on blinis when the family drop round for a glass of prosecco or as a starter with our Christmas dinner. This year I know she is going to love having the  Kinglas Fillet of smoked salmon as a delicious and indulgent treat. It is cured with brown sugar and sea salt, then gently smoked over oak shavings from retired whisky casks resulting in a mild, delicate flavour and moist texture.

Each year I am becoming more and more aware of not wanting more “stuff”. Experience gifts are becoming increasingly popular, and one of our favourites to give (or receive!) is a meal voucher. Knowing that they can go out to eat without having to worry about the cost is amazing. It’s a great gift to give to couples to share, rather than having to buy individual gifts, and if it’s for parents you can offer to babysit too so they can have a proper date night.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without chocolates now would it? We are treating my mother-in-law to a box of Booja-Booja Dairy Free Truffles. Dairy, gluten and soya free they are a great option for those with allergies, as well as being suitable for vegans. With a range of exciting flavours to try they’re sure to not disappoint.

Our family is full of tea and coffee lovers, and Whittard’s is our go to for special treats almost every time. My brother and JHogg are both big coffee fans and so this Christmas Coffee Bauble is right up their street. A simple gift of a rich roast with hazelnut flavourings to enjoy on Christmas Day.

My sister and sister-in-law prefer tea, and I know they’ll be squabbling over this tin of Christmas Tea. With exotic notes of cloves, vanilla and citrus it smells wonderful. It pairs beautifully with these Christmas Pudding All Butter Biscuits, a little taste of Christmas pudding but with the crunch of a biscuit. Bliss.

Over the last few years JHogg and I have really grown to love gin, and more recently we’ve watched our family and friends follow suit. Yard Of Gin is exactly that – a yard box full of gin! With 12 gins sourced from award-winning distilleries, some which are well known and classics, and some more contemporary with a flavourful twist. It is a fantastic gift for any gin lover, whether they’re just exploring the world of gin or more experienced.

Gifts For Busy Mums

I often find the best gifts are something that they will not only love but that they need too. When I’m running around taking the kids to and from nursery, sorting the house or crawling through soft play these Love Leggings high waisted leggings are a staple. Thick, comfortable, available in a wide range of colours and sizes and, most importantly, affordable – they’re the gift that will always be appreciated.

When rushing about with the kids it can be hard to find a moment to have a hot drink. My kids will usually give me some peace when we’re at the park so I like to take a drink out with me and have it there. My sister-in-law will be having her first baby in January and I know she will appreciate this rose coloured Huski Cup when she’s out for a walk with her new bundle. It’s biodegradable, leak proof and twin walled to keep drinks hot or cold.

In the morning I like things that are quick to grab and my Hari And The Gang Hoodie is my go to every time. It is warm and cosy and I love the prints. Lots of my friends have been coveting it and I think most mums would put it to good use, be it on the school run or when they’re escaping to the gym.

Skincare Gifts

Beauty products are always popular gifts for women, but more and more men are interested in taking care of their skin. A few months ago JHogg tried out the NEUÙ Seaweed Skincare range and it has made it on to our purchase list for some of the men in our family this year.

Skincare is an important part of the self care regime for many of us. The Scentered De-Stress Wash & Lotion is a lovely set to add to anyones wellbeing ritual. The wash contains organic Aloe to help cleanse, detoxify and moisturise the skin and the lotion has a Jojoba Oil formula to soothe, and Sweet Almond Oil and Sunflower Oil condition and moisturise the skin.

Fun Gifts For Everyone

The Illumibowl toilet night light may initially be bought as a bit of a joke, but it will soon turn out to be a great gift. It has sensors for light and movement, so when it is dark and someone moves it lights up your toilet as a colourful beacon.

Like many people my age…. or older…. or younger, I am a huge Harry Potter fan. We have had no end of fun with an Invisibility Cloak recently and I can tell they’re going to be popular this Christmas. Any Potter geek will love making their own pictures and videos using the app, or recreating scenes from the movies.

A gift that the whole family can enjoy is a game of Mega Hi Tower. It is essentially giant Jenga and is always a bit hit at BBQs and parties. My Dad often plays it with the kids, and the rest of the adults like to get involved and make bold statements about who can do it best. Solid and hardwearing, it is a great option for encouraging family time.

Transporting gifts doesn’t have to mean never ending plastic bags. We use festive sacks every year, and this year we are giving my mum a Peter Rabbit Christmas Sack so she can do the same. The perfect size to toss a couple of presents in to take to someones house, or fill it to the brim and prop it up next to the tree. It is adorable and a gift that they will use year after year.
