I find JHogg the hardest person to buy for. That is nothing new – he has always been ridiculously difficult. Historically, he has hated pretty much every present I’ve bought him and discards or returns them all. It’s a bit ridiculous really!
So naturally, you may be wondering why I think I suddenly have the authority to start dishing out advice on gift ideas for men. It’s a fair question really! But with a father, a brother and a brother in law who all seem to appreciate my gifts, I believe the problem is the recipient – not the gift! I’ve got a few ideas for things you may want to consider giving this year that might just be a hit.
For Mr Practical
Everyone has someone in their life that likes a practical gift. For those guys I think you can’t really go wrong with a Barbour Dry Wax Wallet And Keyring Set. A wallet is something that is used every day, so they are always getting a bit battered and worn. It comes in a presentation box and is perfect for those who like to just carry cards with them.
It might also be worth looking for something from Cotswold. They have loads of practical gifts, plus there is usually a Cotswold Outdoors discount code to be found if you know where to look!
For Mr Gadget
My JHogg is a bit of a gadget man, as are most of his friends. The problem with that is that if there’s a gadget they want they tend to go and get it – so I’ve had to think outside of the box! We got a “new” car earlier this year, but it’s more on the old side. So this Christmas I’ve got him a DAB adaptor. It works by wirelessly transmitting (via FM transmitter) music straight to your existing car radio, allowing you to enjoy all the extra stations and quality on the move.
For Mr Sensitive
There are loads of skin products out there and it can be hard to know which one to choose. I prefer to stick to sensitive products for JHogg, as I know they can be a bit kinder to his skin. This year I have gone for the Nivea Men Sensitive Kit. It has 5 full size products to keep them full stocked for a little while.
Of course, if you want to play it safe and avoid skin products altogether you could find some clothes. I am going to be on the look out for a Lyle and Scott discount code to get a few last minute items.
For Mr Potter
They may well deny it in public, but the world still holds a load of closet Harry Potter fans! I am always on the look out for bits and pieces that I can get that are Harry Potter themed, and this year I’ve found a great Hogwarts Crest light and a Gryffindor bathrobe. They won’t break the bank, and bring a bit of fun to the day.
Please note – we were gifted some of these items for inclusion in this gift guide. All words and opinions are my own.
