Becoming a new mum, whether for the first time or for the fifth time, is really exciting. You’ve got all the newborn cuddles to look forward to, and you have all the fun of picking out your pram and cot in anticipation of their arrival.
Unfortunately, the expenses don’t stop there. There are lots of little things that can make your life as a new mum that bit easier, or even just a bit more enjoyable! As I start to prepare for our new arrival I have been thinking of the newborn must haves I had from last time, but also what I would like to get for myself this time around.
With my first son we used a moses basket which I placed at the end of our bed. He outgrew it by around 4 and a half months, and he was a small baby, and that meant he had to move into his own bedroom at that point.
With this baby I would love to have a SnuzPod Bedside Crib. They not only give easy access to baby for night time settling, but they are big enough to accommodate a Sleepyhead which many moses baskets aren’t.
Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump
Although I tried 3 breast pumps out last time, none of them quite suited me. Each pump is slightly different, and your preference will be personal to you. This time I am going to be trying the Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump. As the makers of the lanolin cream which all breast feeding mothers swear by, I have high hopes for their pump to be exactly what I need.
Back-Pack Changing Bag
I loved my PacaPod Mirano changing bag with Piglet. It suited our needs perfectly with just one baby. As he has gotten older though, I have ditched it in favour of a plain rucksack. This leaves my hands free for chasing him around the park when I need to.
This time, I want the organisation of a proper changing bag, but in back pack form. The PacaPod Picos Pack is what I currently have my eye on!
Organisation For Me
Within my changing bag, all my items are just tossed in amongst Piglet’s things. That means that I can be rummaging around looking for a lip balm or hair bobble at the bottom the bag. Having 2 little ones when I’m out and about means that it is simply going to get worse!
Stickerscape have some lovely canvas bags for you to keep all your mummy things in and away from the baby bits. There are lots of items on their website that make lovely gifts – perfect for Mother’s Day coming up! If you would like to chance to win something then hang on to the end of this list too.
Earth Friendly Baby Bath Products
Piglet’s skin was really dry as a baby and I was so wary of putting anything on him that would aggravate his delicate baby skin. Earth Friendly Baby products are all natural and organic, meaning that they are gentle on baby skin. Plus – they smell amazing!
