Having a baby changes your world, no one would deny that. You suddenly have a bunch of extra little things to think about just to get through the day – never mind the general necessities like grocery shopping. Working out what you need and when can be a bit of a mine field, especially when you’re weaning. Piccolo have started a Just For You subscription box which takes care of all of the stress so you don’t have to. Sounds ideal right? I’ve given it a go to see how it all works.

What Is Piccolo Baby Food?
Piccolo is a brand that is dedicated to wholesome and sustainable food for babies and kids. What started as a small offering of 6 foods has grown to the 40 different types of foods and snacks that we know and love. Piccolo food products products are organic and don’t contain refined sugar, palm oil or salt.
10% of Piccolo’s profits are donated to charities supporting local families. With a strong focus on sustainability, they source ingredients from independent family farms as well as offsetting the company’s annual carbon footprint by supporting the Clean Drinking Water project in Uganda.
Recyclable Baby Food Pouch
When I first started weaning I avoided pouch meals because the pouches weren’t recyclable. Piccolo have been working hard and have developed Europe’s first 100% recyclable baby food pouch. This is a major breakthrough for the industry and one I am so excited to see!

Where Can You Buy Piccolo Baby Food?
You can pick it up in the supermarket, which is great for when you’re out and about. But you can also buy Piccolo baby food online direct from the store on their site. The Just For You subscription is a new system, which gives you a more tailored set of food options. When you sign up you answer questions about you and your baby, covering age, allergies and restrictions as well as what you want to get out of their eating.
You can then choose between a formula box, meal box or cooking box, and pick the frequency that suits you best. That way it’s up to you whether you want to use Piccolo for all your baby’s meal or just once a day to supplement your home cooking. There is no minimum subscription length, and you can easily cancel future orders (provided they haven’t been dispatched yet). The experts at Piccolo select meals and snacks for your child, and then your box is delivered by courier.
What Do You Get in the Piccolo Just-For-You Subscription Boxes?
What you will find in you Just For You subscription box will vary depending on the information you give, and that is the beauty of it. Each formula box contains 2 tubs, a food box contains 35-40 items and a cooking box contains the items needed to make basic meals. Below are the items that I received.
There were 3 different types of pouches included and one sachet, with 5 of each type.
- Apple and Raspberry With Whole oats, which could be used as a breakfast or as a snack for older children.
- Tomato and Mozzarella Spaghetti
- Spring Vegetables and Chicken Casserole with Rice
- Beef Spaghetti Bolognese

Piccolo snacks have been some of my kids favourites for years. The box contained 3 different flavours of the teething wafers.
- Sweet Pea
- Banana Blueberry
While they are popular snacks, I would have like to have seen more variety in textures such as the breadsticks or melts which my kids know and love. This has been fed back to Piccolo and taken on board for future boxes.

If, like me, you also want to cook for your children then you can choose a cooking box. I received:
- Vegetable stock cubes
- Chicken stock cubes
- Bolognese stir in sauce
As the box already contained bolognese meal pouches it would have been nice to see a different type of stir in sauce – Piccolo currently have 3 variations in their range. This has been fed back to Piccolo and taken on board for future boxes.
