About Us

What is OddHogg all about?

OddHogg started in 2016 as an outlet for when I was at home after the birth of my first son. At the time I didn’t realise what it would become, and how much it would mean to me. Over the last few years it has become a huge part of our lives, allowing me to document my second pregnancy and providing me with a job that enables me to spend my days at home with my children.

OddHogg has grown as our family grew, and the content has matured with it. I like to document  our lives as a family, my struggles and successes with type 1 diabetes and capture the moments as we travel in the UK and around the world.

About Me

I am Kim, the person who writes the blog and the woman behind the camera. I have type 1 diabetes and use an insulin pump and flash glucose monitor to try and keep myself as healthy as possible. I spend my days with my two boys, balancing mum life with working from home. Before I had children I worked in the oil and gas industry as a pressure systems integrity engineer, so this has been a weird and wonderful step into completely unchartered territory for me – and I’m loving every minute.

When I’m not working I love spending time with my family best. We have been doing our best to sample all of the cake shops around town. I have a very sweet tooth and can’t turn down a sweetie or hot chocolate no matter how hard I try! I love to read but never seem to find enough time for this these days.

Follow me on Twitter, Instgram, YouTube and Facebook to see what we’re up to day to day.
