Easy Construction With Stickle Bricks

AD | Sponsored Review

Nothing hits you quite like watching your kids play with toys you had as a child. I have fond memories of playing with Stickle Bricks and they have clearly stood the test of time, as my boys now play with them too. Construction toys are great for using their imagination and for working on fine motor skills – and Stickle Bricks is a great place to start.

Stickle Bricks are suitable from around 18 months old. The parts are big and chunky so you shouldn’t have to worry about choking if they try to put a piece in their mouth for a bit of a taste (as little ones have a tendency to do!). At 6 years old Zee is still keen to play with them, so there’s no need to worry about kids outgrowing them quickly. Even JHogg and I have been known to have a go – all in the spirit of playing with the children of course and not at all for our own enjoyment…….

The Stickle Bricks Fun Tub which we have comes with the usual bricks in lots of shapes and vibrant colours that I remember from my childhood, as well as some wheels and axels to make different vehicles. There are even a few heads so they can have people driving the vehicles if they want.

There are no instructions with Stickle Bricks, no fixed rules to follow. It makes it so much easier to step back and avoid trying to “control the fun” as we as grown ups can be guilty of doing. The storage tub has some creations on it which are great for inspiration, but JJ was content in making his own designs.

They do have to be careful with their designs, the bricks don’t seem to stay together as well as I remembered. This doesn’t cause much of an issue with simple designs but was a bit more problematic with the more complex creations.

The Stickle Bricks Fun Tub is a great starter set. It has everything you need to explore Stickle Bricks for the first time and the tub keeps them stored neatly when they’re not being used. It is a great boredom busting toy for the whole family.
