Do you feel as though you have very creative kids? Maybe you want to encourage them to use their imagination but you don’t know how to go about doing this. Either way, if you want to encourage a positive change then there are a few things you can do to help yourself and them. Take a look below to find out more.
Provide Them With A Creative Environment
One thing you can do if you want to help your kids would be for you to provide them with the right creative environment. Make sure that your child always feels relaxed at home and allow them to think and play without any rules or judgment. If you can take the time to give them a lot of encouragement then this will also help them to explore their ideas, while nurturing their creativity.
Have Some Resources to Hand
Even though some creative activities do not require resources, such as singing, drama and dance, some do. Having access to pens, paper and paints will help your child quite a lot. Remember, you do not need to have a huge budget but you do need to try and save toilet roll tubes, empty cardboard boxes and even scrap paper. Give your child some tape and some markers, and before you know it, they will be well on their way to building their rocketship or even trying to put together a show-stopping puppet stage.
Open-Ended Toys
Another thing you can do is try and opt for open-ended toys. These are a great investment and on top of that, they are limitless in terms of their creative possibilities. Try and opt for animals, blocks, building sets and more. Dressing-up clothes or even Lego can be used for a lot of different purposes too, and this will encourage your kids in terms of their imaginative play.

Inspiring Big Thoughts
Do what you can to encourage curiosity and get curious juices flowing by taking the time to ask them open-ended questions. This is a great way for you to encourage creative thinking and it also helps them with imaginative play. Start by telling them things you didn’t know about Christmas, and then go from there if you are stuck for ideas. This is a great way for you to support them with their imagination.
Unstructured Time
Creativity often sparks when kids have unstructured time. By allowing a few hours in the day where your kids can do what they want, you can help your kids to relax and you can also encourage them to adopt a much more creative mindset. On top of this, you can allow them to play without any time constrictions. Creativity sometimes needs room to breathe, and the more you can help them with this, the better.
Reduce Screen Time
The amount of screen time you give your child can also influence their creativity. Instead of finding activities for themselves, you may find that they end up being absorbed by what is in front of them.
