Children have little sense of personal hygiene and put just about everything in their mouths. It’s how they learn and explore the world funnily enough as it teaches them about textures and how big items are. However, it’s something that they will need to grow out of as they get older. They will need to learn about personal hygiene and cleanliness. As well as becoming a little odd, it can help protect them from germs and getting ill. Here’s how you can teach your child these lessons.
These tips were put together with the help of a nursery in London.
Lessons On Germs
Germs are little critters that we can’t see. Just like them, they are nasty bugs that we wouldn’t want to ingest as we can fall ill. This is a good analogy that you can use to help explain. As they can’t see them, they may forget things like washing their hands and thinking of them as invisible bugs can help them to remember. There are a range of children’s books that you can also find to teach them about personal hygiene and how to take care of it.

Bath Accessories
Some children absolutely despise bath time. They don’t like being wet and getting shampoo all in their eyes. To make it a more enjoyable process and something that they like doing, why not invest in some bath toys and a face guard. They are clip-on rubber hats that act as a shield, stopping foamy water from entering their eyes while getting it washed.
Cleaning Up
Another thing that you can do is remind and reward them for doing things like making their bed. It will enforce good habits for the future and help them in practising good personal hygiene. You could use a reward chart to see if that helps in motivating them to do their bit.
