JHogg and I are nearly the end of the line with changes to our home. As I write this my new kitchen is being fitted. We have new floors, doors and skirtings to go in and then we can finally go home and make the most of it.
The thing about having a new kitchen though, is that I’m now not content with the thought of putting out things into it. Apparently I think we have a never ending bank balance because I’ve been day dreaming about all the lovely new items I want. A girl can dream right?
SMEG Kettle and Toaster
I have looked at this set online about a million times. I think they are gorgeous – although perhaps a little out of our price range. I love the blue shade and it would match really well with our new back splash.
I think if I’m being realistic we would get a Morphy Richards set. At least we could buy it without having to remortgage the house!
Contemporary Wine Rack
We have been toying with the idea of a wine rack for a while, but I was worried about Piglet grabbing bottles off of it. I’ve found this wall mounted one which would keep it well away from little fingers. We are painting our wall white so I think it would look really nice against it.
Does this make me a loser? I’ve seen some cool unfinished signs which would be perfect for us. We could either paint it grey to match some of our cabinets, or stain it to match the oak floor and dining table.
Magnetic Knife Rack
In our old kitchen we tried various knife blocks, none of which worked for us. We have some very expensive and super sharp kitchen knives and they would just break. I don’t like having them in a drawer as they bang against each other and I risk cutting myself. I’m hoping to find a good spot for a magnetic rack where we can keep them out of the way of little fingers but in easy reach for grown ups. I don’t think I’ll have to fight hard for this on – JHogg is likely to agree pretty quick I hope!
Le Creuset Dish
I actually already have a couple of Le Creuset items which we got as wedding presents. They are black and gorgeous and I love them, but this Le Creuset dish in Marseille would look fab with our blue feature wall. I can see me using it when we have people round for dinner.
Copper Fondue Set
JHogg and I are big cheese fondue fans. Actually we’re generally just big cheese fans, but a fondue is one of our favourite ways or having it. We picked up a set in a carboot sale a few years ago but I’ve fallen in love with the idea of a copper fondue set.
