Get your kids hyped up

While decades ago, families would have to look at pamphlets and brochures to plan out trips, nowadays, it’s not like that.
It’s gotten a lot easier to plan trips and even find destinations, thanks to the help of the internet! You can hype your little ones up for the trip just by simply getting them to read travel articles or even watch some entertaining travel content on YouTube.
Have your kids help you search for new places to visit
It’s usually the parents that pick the travel destinations. There can be plenty of reasons for this, such as how affordable it is, last-minute deals, or maybe it’s a place that is cherished. However, why not let your little ones pick out a destination too? It doesn’t need to be for the whole trip, but maybe even a small excursion. This is going to allow your child to be heard, plus this is something that’s going to excite them!
Have your kids pick their favourite activities
Just as your little ones should help pick out destinations or areas for an excursion, why not let them also have a say in some of the activities? Usually, it’s the parents that assume what their child is going to like. But if you let your child pick it out, then you know for a fact they’re going to like it. You can even try nudging them in a direction such as suggesting activities like:

For this activity to work well, parents should have clear expectations of what their kids will do with the itinerary. They should also make sure that they are not too restrictive in what they ask them to do so that there is room for creativity and exploration on both sides.
